| VERONICA GARCIA
Ms. Garcia was born and raised in Miami, FL, graduating from Our Lady of Lourdes Academy High School. Following high school, Ms. Garcia moved to Tallahassee, FL to attend Florida State University (“FSU”), where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and minors in English and Spanish. While at FSU, Ms. Garcia discovered her passion for advocacy after joining Phi Alpha Delta, Pre-Law Fraternity, through which she participated in several Mock Trial competitions.
Before entering law school, Ms. Garcia worked as the District Aide for State Representative Dan Gelber in Miami Beach. Advocating on behalf of the district’s constituents solidified Ms. Garcia’s desire to pursue a legal career and continue to help others. Ms. Garcia obtained her law degree from the University of Miami, School of Law. During her time at UM, Ms. Garcia was a member of Miami Law Women as well as one of the founding members of the Effective Firm Management Society, whose mission is to give students insight on how to open their own firms, maintain a successful practice, and balance the roles of attorney and business owner. Ms. Garcia also participated in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court Intern Program through UM, gaining experience in the Circuit Court’s Criminal Division and learning firsthand what it takes to effectively prepare a successful oral argument. She also traveled abroad to Greece and Italy through UM Law’s Study Abroad program, where she was able to discover and analyze the striking differences in the American legal system as compared to other countries, a useful skill in a city with the highest share of foreign-born residents. Ms. Garcia’s interest in civil litigation was peaked after clerking for Ellsworth Law Firm, P.A., in the firm’s Medical Malpractice Division. Upon graduating UM Law, Ms. Garcia decided to hone those skills gained in her summer clerkship and specialize in the practice of Insurance Defense.
Ms. Garcia practices primarily in the property damage department of ACOSTA. She is fluent in Spanish.
