SARA MANTIN Sara Mantin was born and raised in New York City where she attended the Bronx High School of Science, a specialized high school that is consistently ranked as one of the nation’s best high schools. Following high school, Ms. Mantin attended Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, where she double-majored in Political Science and Philosophy and graduated cum laude. While in college, Ms. Mantin was nominated for a fellowship with the Center for the Study of the Presidency. This fellowship culminated with an original paper on an issue of the modern presidency and the Center published the abstract for Ms. Mantin’s paper, which dealt with the importance of Congressional checks over the President during wartime. During the summers, she interned for both Hillary Rodham Clinton’s Senate Office and Senate re-election campaign. These internships sparked Ms. Mantin’s interest in a legal career.
After college, Ms. Mantin moved to Miami to attend the University of Miami School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor degree cum laude. During law school, Ms. Mantin worked as a judicial intern for Magistrate Judge Barry L. Garber at the United States District Court of the Southern District of Florida and Chief Judge Juan Ramirez, Jr. at the Florida Third District Court of Appeal. She also participated in the Street Law Program, where she taught law-related subject matter to incarcerated high school aged students. Ms. Mantin also completed the Litigation Skills Program at her law school, which enabled her to work at the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office as a Certified Legal Intern. She worked in the misdemeanor division and handled a variety of criminal cases, which helped to hone her advocacy skills.
Ms. Mantin practices primarily in the property damage department of ACOSTA.
