JILL M. STROMMEN

Ms. Strommen, who is originally from St. Cloud, Minnesota, moved to Lee County, Florida with her family in 1986. She later returned to Minnesota and attended the University of Minnesota. Due to her strong ties to the community, she decided to return to Florida and subsequently graduated from the University of South Florida where she remained on the Dean’s List for her last two years and graduated with Honors.

Upon graduating from college, Ms. Strommen began work for Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner (“BLS”), where she gained much experience in the area of general liability and PIP. At BLS, she gained great insight as to how suits were handled from the Plaintiff’s perspective. She assisted in the preparation of these suits for trial, and was in charge of negotiating medical bills with providers, including dealing with reductions.

As a result of her experience at BLS, and wanting to make a difference from the defense perspective, she decided to attend law school. Ms. Strommen obtained her degree at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law School. While there, she was a semifinalist in the mock trial competitions. Also, in order to fulfill her objective of defense work, she clerked with in-house counsel for Frontier Insurance Company. There she was introduced to, and gained considerable experience in, the handling of workers’ compensation claims, General Liability and suits from a defense perspective. This experience fortified and enhanced her desire to practice defense.

Upon graduation, Ms. Strommen continued to specialize in insurance defense as an associate at the firm formerly known as Hightower, Rudd, Weiser, & Acosta, P.A. Upon the opening of Acosta & Associates, Ms. Strommen was invited to join as the managing associate.

She is a member of the Florida Bar, the Dade and Broward County Bar Associations, American Trial Lawyers Association (1998), and the Federalist Society (2000).
