ANDREW DECKER

Mr. Decker was born and raised in Dunkirk, NY, near Buffalo, and graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial and Labor Relations. While at Cornell, he did three university-sponsored Winter Internships at Fessenden, Laumer & DeAngelo, one of Western New York’s leading labor and employment litigation law firms.

Seeking a warmer climate, he came to Miami to attend the University of Miami School of Law, from which he earned a juris doctorate degree. While there, he worked for Res Ipsa Loquitor, the law school’s newspaper, for three years, including a year and a half on the editorial board as the paper’s Arts & Entertainment editor. He was also a member of the Criminal and Entertainment & Sports Law Societies and served on the Student Intra-Organizational Council.

Prior to coming to Acosta & Associates, P.A., Mr. Decker worked for the Miami firm of Phillips, Richard & Rind, P.A., a firm specializing in labor and employment law litigation, where he gained a great deal of experience in a wide range of areas, including civil litigation, administrative proceedings, appellate law, contract negotiation, and alternative dispute resolution. Seeking to specialize in civil litigation specifically in the area of insurance defense, Mr. Decker decided to join the law form of Acosta & Associates. His admission is pending before the Florida Bar.
