CRISTINA LINARES-OBESO

Mrs. Linares-Obeso was born in Miami, FL. She graduated from the University of Miami with Honors in 2005 having double-majored in Art History and British Literature as well as receiving a minor degree in Classical Antiquities. While at the University of Miami, Mrs. Linares-Obeso helped found the Classics Club and served as Vice-President during her senior year. She was awarded Departmental Honors from the School of Arts and Sciences for her senior thesis on Aristotle. While there, she also studied Attic Greek, which to date has proved rather unhelpful. After graduation, she served as the general manager for the United States branch of an international child advocacy organization known as Fundación Intervida.

Always having had a passion for the law, Mrs. Linares-Obeso began studying at the University of Miami School of Law. While there, she participated in moot court as well as the Litigation Skills Program.  She was a member of the Maritime Law Society as well as the International Law Society. Anxious to apply the law, Mrs. Linares-Obeso clerked at the law firm of McIntosh, Sawran, Peltz and Cartaya, P.A. throughout her entire law school studies. It was there that Mrs. Linares-Obeso was able to gain experience in the practice of Insurance Defense having worked in both Medical Malpractice and Admiralty.

After graduating from the University of Miami School of Law, and being admitted to practice in the State of Florida, Mrs. Linares-Obeso interned with the Honorable Judge Israel Reyes.  Upon completion of her internship, she joined Acosta Strommen as an associate in their Workers Compensation Department.  She is currently studying so she may admitted to practice in the United States District Court Southern District of Florida. She is fluent in Spanish and conversational in Italian.
