BERIT GRIFFIN

Ms. Griffin was born and raised in Miami, Florida.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in International Relations with a minor in French Language and Literature from Boston University.  During college, she spent a year abroad in France in support of her degree.  After graduating, Ms. Griffin returned to Miami, and joined Acosta Strommen as a legal assistant.  Working in a litigation firm environment convinced her to pursue her Juris Doctor degree. 

She enrolled at the University of Miami School of Law, where she competed successfully to become a member of the Charles C. Papy, Jr. Moot Court Board.  She was part of a team that represented the Moot Court Board at Whittier Law School’s National Juvenile Law Moot Court Competition.  Also during law school, Ms. Griffin completed the two-semester Litigation Skills Program, which enabled her to work at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office as a Certified Legal Intern.  She prepared traffic and misdemeanor crime cases for bench trials, interviewing witnesses and police officers and conducting legal research, and appeared in court on behalf of the State for bench trials and arraignments.  Ms. Griffin graduated from the University of Miami School of Law cum laude and was subsequently admitted to the Florida Bar. 

Ms. Griffin joined Acosta Strommen in January 2010, this time as a litigation associate attorney, where she puts her advocacy skills to use in civil defense litigation.
